Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
The short version
- GetHomeSafe has no accounts. Everything you set up stays on your phone.
- During a call the app reads only how loud your microphone is, on your phone, to know when you’ve stopped talking. Nothing you say is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and we never sell data.
1. Who we are
GetHomeSafe is made by Build and Build OÜ, [registered address], [country], registry code [number] (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions about privacy: privacy@gethomesafeapp.app.
2. Data that stays on your phone
The following is stored only on your device. We cannot see it, and it is deleted when you choose “Delete account” in the app’s Settings, or delete the app.
- Your first name, so the app can greet you.
- Your answers to the onboarding questions (for example, how often you walk home alone).
- Your settings: chosen callers, call delay, language, notification preference and emergency-number country.
- A short diagnostics log of app events (for example “call screen opened”), kept to help fix problems. It contains no names, audio or personal content, and leaves your phone only if you choose to share it with us from Settings.
3. The microphone
During a fake call, the app uses the microphone to measure loudness a few times a second, so the caller waits while you talk and continues when you stop. This happens entirely on your phone. The app does not record, transcribe, analyse or send what you say. iOS requires a temporary audio file to measure loudness; it is deleted when the call ends. You can turn off microphone access in iOS Settings at any time; calls then use fixed pauses instead.
4. The phone call
Calls ring through Apple’s CallKit, so they look like a real iPhone call. Like any call, iOS may list it in your phone’s Recents. This record stays on your device (and in your iCloud, if you sync call history) and is not sent to us. The callers’ voices are pre-recorded and built into the app; no call audio is generated or streamed during a call.
5. Subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We never receive your name, card or billing address. To know whether you are a supporter, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app identifier and Apple’s record of your purchases (product, dates, country and price). The legal basis is the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
6. Who processes data for us
| Service | What for | Data |
|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat Inc. | Subscription status | Anonymous app ID, purchase records from Apple. |
| Apple Inc. | App distribution, payments, CallKit | As described in Apple’s own privacy policy. |
These providers are based in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
7. What we don’t do
- No advertising, advertising identifiers or tracking across apps and websites.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services.
- No location tracking. When a caller says they “can see your location”, that is a scripted line, not real tracking.
- We never sell or share your data for marketing.
8. How long we keep data
Data on your phone stays until you delete it in Settings or delete the app. We keep no copy of it.
9. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict its processing. See Your Rights for how. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
GetHomeSafe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
11. Security
Your data stays on your phone, protected by iOS. The little that reaches our providers (subscription records) travels over encrypted connections.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For significant changes we will tell you in the app.
